Al Manara for Renewable Energy Projects

With scientific and technological development, it has become possible to benefit from the various large energies present on Earth and convert them into electrical energy that people can benefit from to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, which causes an increase in the emission of gases that lead to climate change that is harmful to the environment. This is not new, as the power generation stations installed on water dams have invested the latent energy in the water at the top of the dams and used it to move the turbines that generate electrical energy. Iraq was one of the pioneering countries in the region that used and still uses water energy to generate electrical energy, as in the stations of Samarra, Dokan, Darbandikhan, Mosul and Haditha, and it is hoped to use it in the future in the Bekhal Dam. Electricity can be generated using wind, which is widely used in countries that have suitable wind movement. After studying wind movement in Iraq, researchers found that there is little wind movement in Iraq except in some limited areas, which reduces the benefit from this wind, especially since its cost is high compared to the energy it can generate.

The high heat resulting from the sun’s rays falling on the Earth has been used to heat water, as well as to use it in cooking and plastic houses for a long time. Recently, systems have been made that reflect the sun’s rays towards automatic beacons containing materials with a high thermal coefficient, then transfer these materials to steam power stations that absorb this energy and convert it into thermal energy that supports the thermal energy needed by the steam boilers to operate the station, thus reducing the need for fossil fuels needed to operate thermal stations. These solar towers must be placed near the steam stations. But scientists were able to exploit sunlight to generate electrical energy, using special panels called solar panels that convert sunlight falling on the panels into direct current electrical energy, and then these panels are connected to electrical converters to obtain the known alternating current, which is connected in different ways to electrical loads as well as various electrical generators or the electrical grid, to ensure continuous electrical energy, and because these panels do not generate electrical energy except when there are sunlight, and it may decrease when there are clouds in the sky or the sun’s inclination on the panels differs, a number of batteries can be connected or electrical generators can be used or connected to the national electricity grid to ensure the continuity of electricity supply around the clock

Al-Manara Company

Based on the above, an agreement was reached between a number of specialists holding higher degrees in electrical engineering and control systems and executive engineers for solar energy projects to establish a company specialized in renewable energy projects called (Al-Manara Company for Renewable Energy Projects Limited Liability Company, a private company). The establishment was duly carried out in the Companies Registration Department and according to the announced documents. Al-Manara Company manages its activities from its facilities currently located in Baghdad, which are represented in designing and trading specialized products in generating electrical energy from renewable energy and providing engineering consultations and solutions for energy generation projects and how to connect them to electrical energy networks and providing operation and maintenance services and the necessary inspection and testing work, calibration and engineering consultations.

Given the urgent need to find an alternative source of renewable energy and its positive impact on the lives of millions of future generations, Al-Manara has dedicated its capabilities to investing in the future of renewable energy in order to be a major player in developing renewable energy projects in Iraq.

Al Manara is concerned with developing and producing independent energy through renewable energy sources according to several technologies, including photovoltaic energy, concentrated solar energy, wind energy, and renewable energy connected to the electricity grid.

As an independent power producer, Al Manara develops, constructs, operates and maintains power utility projects using a variety of technologies, most notably photovoltaic, concentrated solar power, wind energy, grid-connected renewable energy, hybrid renewable energy and others.
